From December 2nd! "Kobe Luminarie 2016" Let's see the sculpture of the artistic lights(illumination) which adorns Kobe city!

December has started this year! The winter has come! Kobe city is decorated with the sculpture of the artistic lights this year too. "Kobe Luminarie 2016" has finalｌy begun!

Kobe Luminarie has been held for the memorial and reposing of soul of the victims of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and it is 22nd times this year 2016.

Kobe Luminarie 2016 has started from December 2nd and around foreign settlement area and Higashi-Yuenchi Park area are illuminated with the sculpture of the artistic lights.

Kobe Luminarie will be held until December 11th. So, please come and see this special sculpture of the lights.

The beginning of the Kobe Luminarie is in 1995 when the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake was occurred. The first Luminarie was held for praying to the victims and earthquake disaster reconstruction.

The Luminarie has been taken place every year since it started. And the theme of each year is directed with the sculpture of the lights.

Kobe city hall is just next to "Higashi-Yuenchi Park" the venue of Luminarie.
From the observatory lobby in the Kobe city hall bldg.1, you can overlook the "Higashi-Yuenchi Park". So it is also good to enjoy Luminarie from the Kobe city hall.

"Kobe Luminarie" is the annual winter event in Kobe. It is different from other illuminations in the town, Kobe Luminarie is an Art. Many people come to see this art works from Kansai region. The weekend is very crowded with the people so it is better to come in the night on weekdays to relax and enjoy it.
Kobe Luminarie is held for a short time, so if you have chance to come to Kobe, you must see the Luminarie!
