Among many historical buildings in Kyoto, "Byodo-in" is registered as a World Heritage Site and it was built almost 1000 years ago.
Byodo-in is well known for its portrayal of the Byodoin Houoo-Hall(Phoenix Hall) on the Japanese 10 yen coin. The temple was chosen for the motif of the 10 yen coin in 1951, and has remained ever since.

There are many important properties and national treasures in the temple. We highly recomment you to visit this World Heritage Site, and take a stroll around Uji river together.
