"Sagano Scenic Train" has become a popular sightseeing place in Kyoto. This is a sightseeing railroad which connect "Torokko Saga"station in Arashiyama area to "Torokko Kameoka"station for approx.7.3 km. During the 30 minutes ride between Saga and Kameoka, the train stops at "Torokko Arashiyama" station and "Trokko Hozugawa station".

The origin of Sagano Scenic Train is a discontinued railway of JR Sanyo that was functioning as a actual railway and later facilitated for touristic purpose.

The train, just after departing from Saga Torokko station, enters to the natural mountains. The passengers can enjoy the slow speed train ride with the view of "cherry tunnel" in Spring, "fresh and clean green air" in Summer and most of all, "spectacular scarlet maple leaves" in Autumn from the window.

In addition, Hozugawa river which runs beside the railway is one of the"Sagano Romantic Train" highlights. It runs moderately in one part and immediately flows very fast and roughly in the other area.

This edition features "Sagano Romantic Train" which is recommended for sightseeing in Arashiyama area together with visiting temples and gourmet.

・Sagano Scenic Train is crowded especially in weekends and touristic season such as Spring and Autumn. The tickets may be sold out or you may be required to wait for a long, therefore, we recommend advance reservation.

・If you take the train from Arashiyama "Torokko Saga station" or "Torokko Arashiyama station" for Kameoka, it is better to have a plan after arriving Kameoka station. Those who want to come back to Arashiyama from kameoka, "Hozugawa river boat ride" or JR train from Kameoka station (which is 10 minutes working distance from Torokko Kameoka station) are recommended.

・Baby stroller needs to be folded on board.
