"Kodai-ji" is one of the most popular sightseeing place in Kyoto. Especially we recommend to come here in Spring and Autumn.

Todai-ji was built by Kitano Mandokoro(Nene), the wife of "Toyoyomi Hideyoshi"
, when she became nun after his death in the Warring States period.
The path run from Yasaka-jinja to Kodai-ji is commonly called as "Nene's street". In the precincts of Kodai-ji there are Omote-mon(front gate), Otamaya(the house worship one's soul), Kaisan-do, Karakasa-tei, Sigure-tei, Kangetsu dai and other many important cultural properties.

But Kodai-ji in Spring and Autumn has lots of tourists. "Special Night Visit" is hold from the middle of March to the beginning of May for "Shidare sakura(weeping cherry blossom)" and from the end of October to beginning of December for "Autumn Leaves". You can enjoy the beautiful Japanese scenery.

Furthermore, during the Special Night Visit, night illumination and projection mapping are performed. So you can see the beautiful scene mixed with the historical and modern technology. For visit Kodai-ji, we recommend to visit "Yasaka-jinja" first and walk in the "Nene's street then come to Kodai-ji.
