"Yamayaki (Grass Burning Festival in Wakakusa yama)" Annual event of Nara

Wakakusa yama is famous for the great view point but also it's is know for an annual main event of Nara.
That is "Wakakusa yama Yamayak" held in 4th Saturday of January.

Burn the grass whole district of Wakakusa yama and it herald the coming of early spring. Many people come to see this festival from all over the country.

Around 18:30 in winter, at the fireworks, it starts to burn the grass in Wakakusa yama. This spectacle is absolutely amazing.
