"Ohara Sanzen-in" is in the north part of Kyoto. It was built in 1,200 years ago.
Now it is a popular sightseeing place throughout the year, Cherry blossom in Spring, fresh green garden in Summer, most gorgeous scene with Autumn Leaves in Fall and snow in Winter, you can see the many different beautiful figures of Sanzen-in.
Of course, in the precinct there is not only beautiful scene but also historical cultural properties including architecture, sculpture, paintings and art crafts.
Sanzen-in is different from the temples and shrines in central Kyoto, because it is located in the nature and surrounding by mountains. So it is essential to visit it to feel the different atmosphere. Autumn is the best season to come and you can see the garden brightly decorated with colorful autumn leaves.
